Caroline R. Flanders, Attorney

Caroline began her work with George in 2001 as a paralegal who managed the office and administered the non-profit organization, You’ve Got a Friend. In 2009, Caroline embarked on a law degree just six months after the arrival of her first child, Zyler. Her second child, Oscar thoughtfully arrived one week after her final exams in 2010.  Caroline received her Juris Doctor degree and was admitted to the bar in 2012.

Caroline’s nine years as a paralegal gave her a deep understanding of local Island real estate issues and a practical approach to resolving differences.  As a result, she takes on a broad array of property-related issues including probate and trust administration, residential and commercial purchase, sales, and financing transactions, leases, easements and protective covenant schemes, petitions to partitions, title analyses, Land Court petitions, genealogical and historical research, and business entity formation.

Caroline serves as co-deacon of the Heartfelt Service Ministry Circle at the First Congregational Church of West Tisbury, a meeting facilitator for her homeowners’ association, an executive board member of the Minnesingers Parents Group, and is a member of the Martha’s Vineyard Agricultural Society. She previously served on West Tisbury’s Affordable Housing Committee, Community Preservation Committee, and Board of Library Trustees, and on the Island Housing Trust Corporation’s Board of Directors. Caroline lives with her children & rescue dog Roux in the Island Cohousing Community neighborhood in West Tisbury. She loves taking walks on the Island’s many public trails, cooking, movies, and is learning how to knit.
